Micro, Macro and the Bee’s Knees

I love Nikon. From the whole functionality and durability of their cameras down to the superb crystal-clear images captured by their Nikkor lenses; I am completely smitten. That being said, I like to collect things. When I was little, I collected Barbies, Polly Pockets, and Nano Pets. Whenever I collect things, I become somewhat….neurotic. I want them all. ALL. (hehe) It’s really quite an overbearing impulse that I have to keep in-check since becoming an “adult”.
I still collect things, but instead of little-footed blondes with compact-like houses (can I get a fist bump from my original Polly Pocket lovers?! Whoop whoop!), I collect lenses. ;D

I recently bought a 24-70mm Nikkor lens and it is amazing. I am incredibly proud of that lens because to me, it symbolizes obtaining goals and meeting new milestones in my passion and career.
I have also recently acquired a Nikkor Micro lens (Macro lens for you Cannon Chicks and Chicos!).

Today, it was just my son and I at the house. The hubby was off to the races with his father and uncle (So glad! He doesn’t get to do that often enough), and the little princess was lounging around her “vacation home” (my mother’s house lol). Sure, I could have folded the basket of laundry that was at the foot of my bed, put away the clean dishes that were in the dishwasher, Hell, I could have even swept and mopped the floors…but I didn’t. Instead, I quietly chased a bee around my yard (in my pajamas) for half an hour while my son sat quietly on the porch playing in his sandbox.

This is what happens when you have an artistic mind. My neighbors aren’t even phased by my peculiar antics anymore. haha!

All of that aside, this was the first time I was able to play with my micro lens and I am so excited how the images turned out!! I can’t wait to take all sorts of close-up shots with it!! 😀
