The World of Reviews Make or Break Small Businesses

We have all heard the expression “word-of-mouth” when it comes to small businesses. It’s one of the most influential ways of natural marketing that can make or break a business. If you want to try out a new restaurant, or need a new plumber (hopefully not within the same night-hehe), the first thing you  do is either reach out to your friends on social media and/or search for reviews online. If you read a few horrible reviews on a certain company, more than likely they will not be your first choice.

My husband and I were out running errands the other morning when “secret shoppers” popped into our conversation. “Do they even have secret shoppers anymore? Is that a thing?” I have no idea. I honestly think they have become obsolete since we can review any and everything on our phones, tablets, computers.

We live in an era where the world is literally at the touch of our fingertips. Google prompts ask whether or not I enjoyed a restaurant or if I can help them with a few questions whenever I run errands. That being said, I have left an insane amount of honest reviews on Google. I love to travel and rely heavily on reviews. I figure it’s my civic duty to help others by leaving reviews too. 😉

Reviews are not only important to the consumers, but they are invaluable to businesses. I know I take every review to heart. After I deliver a session gallery, I am literally on the edge of the seat waiting to hear back from my client. I am ashamed to even know how many times I hit the refresh button on my inbox. *haha* If I do an in-person reveal, my clients’ reactions are food to my soul.  As a photographer and a creative, not only do I capture moments for you to cherish for years to come; I also pour my heart into each session to create a work of art for you to be proud of. <3

Do a small, or not-so-small, business a favor and be sure to leave a review. Your fellow consumers will thank you and the business owner will gain valuable information to help them grow their business successfully.

On behalf of my small (one day, not so small 😉 ) business, thank you  to my clients for leaving reviews and spreading the word. If you haven’t left a review, it’s never too late. <3
