This weekend I spent a couple of days with some wonderful ladies, relaxing by the pool and *trying* to accomplish a macrame wall hanging.
Ever After Vintage Weddings founder and owner, Cassandra VanCuren, styled and hosted this awesome event complete with a timeline, welcome gifts and macrame classes!
Prior to checking into the Gaylord Palms in Orlando, Florida, we all met at Portobello’s Italian Restaurant tucked away in Disney Springs. The staff was very accommodating and our waitress, Tiffany, was an absolute sweetheart. Awaiting our arrival were adorable welcome gifts that Cassandra had assembled, thinking of every last detail (including delicious lollipops from The Groovy Baker and coconut marshmallows from Trudy Melissa Cakes). We dined on delicious food as laughter and conversations flowed.
Once at the Gaylord Palms Resort, I aimlessly walked around the atrium, snapping photos and in complete awe of the beautiful landscaping and design. Being a Florida native, I can say they proudly represented every aspect of Florida from the Everglades to St. Augustine.
We relaxed at the South Beach pool and mingled until our class later that evening when Cassandra taught us how to make our very own macrame wall hanging and pot holder. The evening continued with laughter and stories as we visited with old friends while making some new ones.
The next morning we met bright and early at Villa de Flora for their gourmet breakfast buffet that was delicious! Maria, our waitress, had such a cute personality and made sure we left with stuffed bellies and happy smiles.
I am so blessed to be surrounded by professional women who choose community over competition to help empower each other and build friendships that last a lifetime. <3
A HUGE “Thank You” to Cassandra for hosting such a fun event! I hope it is the first of several annual trips. 😉
